THE LOST MAPS
PEANUT
Game Instructions
- 10 Victory Points for base game
- 12 points for Cities & Knights
Two sets of port tokens are needed if not included in your base games. Postit notes can be used to achieve the same result.
Setup and Rules
Setup:
Layout one set of land hexes to create a normal island. Then lay an additional set of land hexes in another island, touching one edge of the first island. This will create one large peanut-shaped island.
To place the ports, mix up two sets of ports, but take out 4 generic (3:1) ports. Starting in one of the far corners place the ports randomly on every other available space. Ideally orient the ports so they face the direction with the most land hexes. Note: Frame edges from the 4th and 5th editions will not fit together to make the inner shape needed. We recommend leaving the frame off and just using port tokens if available.
The number counters are placed as if you were placing numbers on two separate boards. If preferred to random placement, numbers can be placed by starting on each island at the hex closest to you and continuing counter-clockwise.
The game is played normally, but the robber only forces a player to discard half their cards if the player has more than 11 cards for 6 players, 12 cards for 7 players and 13 cards for 8 players. There is no special build phase or paired player option when playing the peanut.
The numbers and ports shown on the provided map are a suggestion only as both ports and numbers can be placed randomly if preferred.
Cities & Knights:
The Peanut can be played with Cities & Knights.
