Game Instructions
  • Victory: 10 Victory Points
  • Rules: Standard and as below

The Settlers of Catan have encountered something terribly unsettling: just to the Southeast has appeared another island, identical in nearly every respect to their own native home. What is this alternate reality… And what happens when these worlds collide?

During the initial round of placement, each player places his first settlement on the 1st island (Top left). For the second round of placements, each player places his settlement on the 2nd island (bottom right). The two placements do not need to mirror one another (but they may).

If you successfully connect your two initial settlements via an unbroken trade route, you receive 1 bonus point. Your Catanians have met their alter egos and have achieved enlightenment!

Use two robbers in this scenario. Place one robber on each island (in the desert); throughout the game each is constrained to their own island. A player may elect to move whichever one robber he chooses on that turn

For setup, you will notice that each island is identical in all aspects except for the ports.

Loosely inspired by Hilary Putnam’s thought experiment, “Twin Earth” as well as the movie “Another Earth”
