Sunken Treasure
A fun new hex to encourage seafarers exploration
The Story
You found a sunken treasure chest off the shore of Catan. As players venture off to explore new lands in Seafarers they can find rewards along the way.
The hex has two alternate setups based on the preference of the players.
Pieces Needed
- 1 x Sunken Treasure Hex
- 30 x Precious Gem Tokens (alternate version)
For 2 to 6 players. Base game and seafarers are required. C&K can also be added if desired.
Instructions/Rules
The Original Rules
- This hex needs to be near water.
- The hex lets you, at random, get one resource card from the bank with a settlement and 3 resource cards at random from the bank with a city.
- You pick one resource at a time at a time and the random resource card you picked gets replaced and shuffled in again before you pick your second card. This hex does not go on a high rolling number.
Alternate Rules
- This hex is placed in the ocean between the main island and an outer island.
- When a "2" or "12" is thrown the owner of any ship built along the edge of the hex receives a gem stone from the treasure chest/
- Gems can be redeemed as follows
- 1 gem - select a resource card of your choice from the bank
- 2 gems - build a ship for free
- 3 gems - Base Game - take a development card, C&K - take one progress card from the top of the stack of your choice
- If you choose not to spend your gems on rewards, then every three gems you have equals one victory point.
