This is the rarer embossed verion of the Whisky game. This was the second version released and I am told there were between 1,000 and 1500 produced.

There was an opportunity for Catan Club members to buy this game in the 1/98 Catan magazine. There was a small piece in German saying:

This translated to:

"Attention game collectors - this is your ultimate last chance! The KOSMOS SETTLERS Club has secured the only surviving examples of the "Water of Life" - better known as the Whiskey SETTLERS - in the characteristic gold-colored tin can! Only through us you can purchase this wonderfully adapted version of the SETTLERS game for the price of 49.90DM plus 6DM shipping fee. Do you also like the original Whiskey SETTLERS?
