A special token created for the "Die Siedler von Catan: Deutschland" game.

The ZOLLVEREIN ZECHE, a UNESCO World Heritage site, was chosen as a special landmark after a competition at the "SPIEL Essen" event in 2008, between players from Düsseldorf and Essen. The competition was to decide which landmark would replace the Cologne Cathedral token.

After a narrow win for Essen players, in 2009 a limited edition pewter figure Zeche Zoliverein was released through the Catan shop. The landmark token is rare due to the small production run and also came with two stickers that can be placed on the board to show the location.

This new piece matched a limited edition pewter set of all the plastic landmarks in this game. This full set was limited to just 500 copies.
