Does this explain the missing second printing of the 4th edition 5/6 player seafarers box?
In 2007 the 4th edition of Catan was released. The Base, C&K and Seafarers expansions, along with the 5/6 player extensions, were all released with the new 4th edition artwork and with the boxes containing the copyright date of 2007.
It is quite a while since I had this unusual set out and had forgotten just how beautiful and unusual the artwork and design is.
For Christmas 2021 I have created my own Christmas version of Catan called (not surprisngly) Catan@Christmas.

The Catan Deluxe box is been packaged with an additional card band on the outerbox and custom contents for the !ndigo stores in Canada.
I consider myself passionate about Catan. I am also very proud to think I might have one of the top 50 collections of Catan in the world.
However passion and pride pale into insignificance compared to true dedication. And for me the finest example of true dedication is the "Catan Scenario and Variant Guide" created and maintained by Kelvsyc.
I have been told of a new Catan related item I am keen to find and add to my collection. A Reddit friend from Germany contacted me to ask if I had heard of this promotional set and I had not.
The new 3D set for 2021 is growing on me. I still think the border is a great improvement on the 2005 set, but I am also starting to appreciate the hex size being standardised with the flat game.
