After posting images from the very first 1995 Franckh set, it seemed logical to jump to the other end of the timescale and post the latest 2025 German base game - which is the new European 4th edition. This 2025 update is equivalent to the new 2025 English 6th edition and shares much of the artwork.

Even though both Euro 4E and English 6E are updates and designed to bring the games more into align, there are still a number of differences between the two. Probably the most noticable difference between the sets are:

• The Asmodee English sets keep the wooden components, while all the Euro Kosmos sets now use plastic. 
• The English game keeps the larger cards, while the Euro sets continue to use the smaller card size.
• Despite the size difference both the front and rear of the cards now share the same artwork.
• While the artwork for the front of the hexes is now alike, the rear of the hexes is different between the Euro and English sets.
• The storage boxes for pieces are different.
• The included card trays are obviously a different size to allow for the cards, but they are also a different design.
• While the box fron is the same in the two sets, the rear of the box and the instructions are not simply a translation into English, they are a seperate design.
