The five basic Catan resources used in the standard game have gone though a few artwork changes over the first 25 years of Catan. I am sure they will again in the future too.

However there are also a wide range of other resources used in Catan too. These additional resources have been released in special editions, spin-off games, promotional sets and in scenarios and expansions. Among my favourite Catan resources are the artwork used in the 2000 Communication in Catan and the resources in Catan Collectors Edition: Ancient Egypt. I like the Communication for the quirky artwork, while the Egyptian is more to do with this being my favourite version of Catan.

Below is an image that includes many of the different resource cards, but is by no means a complete archive. In some cases I only have sealed versions of games and did not want to open the set simply to photograph the cards. One day I might sit down and create a resource archive, however I have not yet found the time to complete my hex archive so it is unlikely to be any time soon.
