Games Quarterly magazine's first issue was in the Spring of 2004. It was promoted as a magazine devoted to non-electronic games.
Sadly it lasted for just 12 issues. However those issues gave Catan a number of interesting releases. They may not have been original expansions and scenarios, but often they were the first English version.
The issues with Catan releases included:
- Issue 01 - Sprint 2004 - Coffee for Catan
- Issue 02 - Summer 2004 - The Pirate Isle
- Issue 03 - Fall 2004 - The Cursed Country (scenario pages only)
- Issue 04 - Winter 2005 - Trade War (still to find)
- Issue 06 - Summer 2005 - The Grand Canal
- Issue 10 - Fall 2006 - The Great River of Catan
- Issue 12 - Spring 2007 - Fishermen of Catan
I currently have 5 of these 6 scenarios and I have 4 of these as complete magazines.
UPDATE: Feb 2023. With the very kind help of a friend in the USA I have now managed to get all the issues of Game Quarterly listed above. I am very pleased to have the set.
