Identify your Catan Game, Expansions or Extension

Uncategorised

One of the very common questions asked in various forums is "How do I know what version of Catan I have?"

On this page you can select the base game, the base 5/6 player set, and then each of the major expansions to see images of each box. Within the expansions there are also images of the 5/6 player extensions. Please select from the following:

  • English Base sets

  • English Base 5/6 Player sets

  • English Cities & Knights sets

  • English Seafarers sets

  • English Traders & Barbarians

  • English Explorers & Pirates

  • ALSO INCLUDED ARE:
  • Identify your English Catan Card Game

  • Identify your Scenario Map

  • Identify you German Catan Base Set

Please note on the English Catan base set page, I have also included hex artwork and card designs for each edition.

As the game was first released in German and as the box design is also changed over the years, I have also incuded a page on how to identify your German Catan set, along with pages covering bot the English Card Game and the various maps and scenarios.

Sample of Boards

Uncategorised

On this page are some examples of boards and cases in my collection.

Pics of different boards.

The first are the American plastic boards, the second pics are the European wooden boards. Both come in 4 player and 6 player options.

Pics of different cases:

box01

Small Box - actually numbered inside so do not know how common this is. Cheap materials but nicely made.

cardbox

Small Wooden Box for the Catan Card Game - Just superb but never seen one for sale.

wood01

Large Wooden Case - more pics below.. I got three of these and used one to build my daughters first Catan set.

wood02

Space for 6 players. Came with the bags and has quite a bit of space.

wood03

Has really nice magnetic covers to stop everything moving around when being carried. Obviously a bit old by the wear on the straps, but I am in the process of replacing these.
